So... You're Pregnant. Now What?

Woman looks at her pregnancy test.

First things first: take a deep breath.

Finding out you’re pregnant can feel like a lot. Maybe it’s a total shock. Maybe you’re scared, overwhelmed, or just feeling numb. It's okay to feel what you're feeling. You’re not alone.

At Image Clear Ultrasound, we meet women every day who are asking the same thing: “What happens now?”

Here’s what we want you to know:

1. You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out Today

Seeing that positive test can make it feel like you have to make a huge decision right now. But you actually have time.

Give yourself a minute to breathe. Let yourself process everything you're feeling. Then, when you're ready, start gathering information and talking with people you trust.

This is your path, and you deserve support along the way.

2. Make Sure the Pregnancy Is Viable

Before you make any decisions, it’s important to confirm a few things — like whether the pregnancy is developing and located where it should be.

At ICU, we offer free pregnancy confirmation services, including:

  • Lab-quality pregnancy tests

  • Limited obstetric ultrasounds (to confirm how far along you are and if the pregnancy is viable)

  • Private, confidential, judgment-free support

Not all positive pregnancy tests mean a healthy or ongoing pregnancy. An ultrasound can give you real answers and help you figure out your next steps.

3. Learn About Your Options

Whether you're thinking about parenting, abortion, or adoption, it helps to have clear, honest information without pressure. We’ll walk you through your options so you can make the choice that feels right for you.

You’re not in this alone.

4. Take Care of Your Health

This is the time to focus on your health and well-being.

If you’re sexually active, it’s a good idea to get tested for STDs, even if you don’t have any symptoms. Some infections can affect your health during pregnancy, and knowing your status helps you stay protected. We can connect you with referrals for STD testing and care if you need it.

It’s also a great time to focus on your overall health.

Eating well, getting enough rest, staying active, and finding ways to manage stress can all make a difference for you and for your pregnancy.

You don’t have to be perfect. Taking small steps to care for yourself can make a big difference.

5. You’re Not Alone in This

We get it. This might not be the path you thought you'd be on. But no matter what you're feeling or where your journey takes you, we’re here for you.

You’ll find a safe, private space to ask questions, explore your options, and feel supported every step of the way.
